THE DUMMIES GUIDE TO SEARCHING OUR CATALOG

TYPE WORDS INTO SEARCH FIELD - Words do not need to be case sensitive.

HOT TIP - Type words that are descriptive of what you want including style, tempo, genre, vibe, descriptive words, adjectives, sex of vocalist, instrument/s desired… Get creative!!!

NOTE: There is no one way to search! Get creative, descriptive and specific.

_____________________________________________________________________________________

***”ALL WORDS” are good all around while “ANY WORDS” are good to narrow down or specify a description.

EXAMPLE: If you want a track that is either thrash metal or death metal you can enter: metal (thrash, death)

• If you want an orchestral track that is medium to medium-fast you can enter: orchestral (medium, medium-fast)

You can search in the following ways:

• Type ALL WORDS in a row separated by a comma “,” something that covers the info below like the band name, tempo, vibe, instrument, descriptive words (you get the idea).

Example 1: Rock Rap, Hip Hop, Dance
Example 2: Acoustic Guitar, Singer Songwriter, Organic, Female
Example 3: Funky, Sex, Drugs, Pimp, 808, Clap
Example 4: Rolling Stones, Rock, Slow, Grinding, Joyous

• Type ANY WORDS that may happen to be in the name or info or description associated with the tracks, place every word typed in parenthesis, separated by commas.

Example 1: Rap (Hip Hop, Dance)
Example 2: Acoustic Guitar, Singer Songwriter, (Organic, Female)
Example 3: Funky, Sex, Drugs, Pimp, (808, Bass, Clap)
Example 4: Rolling Stones, Rock, (Slow, Grinding), Joyous

• To exclude certain results place a minus sign before the results you wish to exclude. For example if you wanted to see songs that are “Rock” but NOT see songs that have “female vocals”. You would type: rock, vocal, -female

• or for techno tracks but NOT 1980s: techno, -80s

Field Searching

1. Simply right-click in the field you wish to search in and select “search in field” from the popup contextual menu.

2. From there another window will open which can be used as normal but will only yield results from the field in which you right-clicked.

MORE Examples

• If you want to find a greasy rap group circa 1980 with a sexy feel and the word “bump” in it you can enter:

rap, 1980, sexy, bump

• If you want a sexy 1980 track with the word bump in it but you want any genre except rap you can enter:

1980, sexy, bump, -rap

• If you want a track that is either thrash metal or death metal you can enter:

metal (thrash, death)

• If you want an orchestral track that is medium to medium-fast you can enter:

orchestral (medium, medium-fast)

• If you want an orchestral track that sounds like Brahms, features violins or violas and is any tempo except fast:

orchestral, brahms (violin, viola) -fast
